Our Ministries
Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads outwards. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as welcoming guest and preparing for church events to outreach through social media or community events.
Health & Wellness Ministries
The gifts of healings and helping (I Corinthians 12:28) imply the act of applying therapy and helping the sick and infirm. There is a role and calling for wellness ministers in today’s church to teach, preach, model and minister wholeness. The gifts of healings and helping are important in the church today and are integral to the ongoing work
of God and the Health & Wellness ministry of our church.
Our Mission is to:
• Teach, preach and model the gospels concepts of wholeness ,
health and wellness in the Body of Christ and our community.
• Integrate a gospel-based health and wellness culture into the
church and the lives of individual believers
• Reach others with the holistic gospel of Christ
Music... lifting our voices!
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Church members can get involved in music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others get involved in the choir and some get involved in plays or holiday celebrations. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of the church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Discipleship
First Presbyterian Church of Olathe believes that advancing God’s Kingdom doesn’t just come through new ways of 'doing' church, but through the ancient way — faithful preaching, fellowship and contextualizing the unchanging Gospel within a changing culture.
FPC teaches faith in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, as the way to eternal life. We invite anyone from every background, culture or faith who is reaching out with an authentic heart and believe that welcoming everyone who seeks the truth - is true discipleship!
Mission Outreach
We are thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. FPC has sent missionaries and supported these missionaries with financial support and with our prayers for many years. Currently some of our members are involved in rebuilding a medical clinic in Leogane, Haiti where struggles continue years after the earthquake, and many NGOs have left.
FPC has refocused the majority of our missions efforts to a local level for our community. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call to service, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. We are looking for volunteers to photograph and record our special events and weekly sermons to upload to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and are developing a monthly blog and twitter feed for additional church communications.
